FAQs

  • Yes. To be a member of the team, a swimmer must be able to swim 25 meters, the length of the pool, unassisted and without stopping. This includes not touching the bottom and sides of the pool as well as the lane lines. We don't care how fast or how ugly the stroke is or how long it takes to swim that length but they do need to be able to do it. We'll help your child become a better swimmer, but for their safety -- we must enforce this requirement.

  • However old your child is on June 1st will be the age group they will swim in.

    Swim meet age groups are…8 & Under, 9 - 10, 11 - 12, 13 - 14, 15 & Over.

    Our practice age groups are…8 & Under, 9 - 10, and 11 & Over.

  • Absolutely! We just ask that you watch outside of the fence.

  • If it is raining but there is no thunder or lightning, we will still have practice. If we hear thunder or see lightning during practice, we will get out of the pool and utilize the awning to take cover. We will not enter the pool for 20 minutes. Depending on how severe the weather is we will plan on doing dryland exercises under the awning while we wait for the storm to pass or until practice is over.

During severe weather a text, email and/or TeamSnap alert will be sent prior to or during practice that you may come and pick up your child. Please note that while one practice group could be cancelled due to weather, it doesn’t mean all practice groups are cancelled that day. Please wait to hear from your coach during inclement weather.

  • All scheduled meets and practices are listed in the calendar section of the website. You can click on each event to get the details as well as add the event to your calendar and get directions via Google Maps.

  • It is very important that our parents/swimmers meet the scheduled deadline dates & times for registration. We do understand that sometimes life gets in the way and we may sometimes miss things, but we will do our best to remind you of these important deadline dates and times. Always ask the coach to be sure however, here are some general guidelines on whether or not you can register past the deadline or not.

Can I still register the day of the swim meet? No.

Can I register the day before the swim meet? Most likely, no.

Can I register by 7pm two days before the swim meet? Absolutely!

  • Please let the coach know as soon as possible. We will possibly need to rearrange relays and let the host know to scratch you from the events.

  • Home meets you will need to arrive by 5pm to help set up. Away meets you will need to be at the pool, in your suit, and ready to warm up 20 minutes before our warmup time.

  • Yes. Coach Michaela loves team unity and team spirit and this is one way to embrace that. GO DAWGS!!

  • The short answer is no. Each relay team will consist of the 4 fastest boy and girl swimmers in that age group. If there are not enough swimmers to make up a relay team girls and boys are allowed to swim together to fill those gaps. If there are enough kids, there will be an A and B relay team for each age group. A younger swimmer is also allowed to move up one age group to fill gaps as needed. Relays will be determined by the coach and may not always be swam at meets.

  • Ideally, everyone will stay and help put everything away. We need just as many people to tear down a meet as we do to set up. Your help is insanely appreciated!!! With that said, if you need to leave, please let the volunteer in the Dawg Pound (baby pool area at home meets) know, and at away meets let the coach know you are leaving.
